When planning their trip, a lot of people get overwhelmed by all the locations thrown at them. What is The Gulch, anyways? How far is Downtown from The Nations? Here's a quick guide to the neighborhoods in Nashville!
Downtown/Broadway
This is what most people know of when they plan a trip to Nashville. The center is a 6-block stretch of bars, souvenir shops, and restaurants on Broadway. The Pedestrian Bridge a few blocks away offers amazing views of the downtown skyline and connects downtown to Nissan Stadium and East Nashville.
12 South
This walkable neighborhood about 3 miles from Broadway is a great way to spend the day! Filled with murals, boutiques, and restaurants, you can find a little bit of everything here.
Germantown
Named for the German immigrants that once populated this historical neighborhood, Germantown is a more relaxed area near downtown. You'll find a lot more green space here, including Bicentennial Mall, and a brewery on practically every corner.
East Nashville
This neighborhood is known for its eclectic eateries and community of artists and musicians. You'll find more restaurants catering to dietary restrictions (gluten free, vegan, etc.) and unique shops, especially those with handmade and local items.
The Gulch
If you want an upscale, trendy vibe, check out the Gulch. Known for "the wings" mural and home to Biscuit Love, this neighborhood is perfect for those who want to shop at high-end boutiques or pamper themselves with a spa day.
Midtown
Midtown has a more relaxed vibe and is often where the locals go to drink. You'll find several top-notch restaurants and themed bars with craft cocktails. This area is not for the wild honky-tonkin' of Broadway, but perfect to enjoy a drink and good music with friends.
West End
Located near Vanderbilt University, West End is a popular place to stay when visiting Nashville. Predominately made up of office buildings and hospitals, the gem of the neighborhood is Centenial Park. Built in 1897, this 132-acre park is bursting with natural beauty and hosts a full-scale replica of the Parthenon from Athens, Greece.
Music Row
Often confused with Broadway, Music Row is home to a ton of the major record labels and recording studios in Nashville. The most popular building on Music Row is RCA Studio B, where Elvis and other music icons recorded some of their top hits. To tour the studio, you must get tickets through the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The Nations
Home to several well-known restaurants and breweries, The Nations is an up-and-coming neighborhood. You'll find a few stores, including thrift shops, home decor, and Nashville souvenirs. Nearby, you can check out a golf course or a rock-climbing gym.
